Learn About Medicare

How Medicare Works

Medicare has four “parts”. Understanding what each covers will help to ensure you get the coverage you need.

Part B is the second part of “Original Medicare”. It helps cover doctors’ services, outpatient care and certain home health care expenses. Part B can also help with the cost of certain preventative services to help you maintain your health. Learn more

Medicare Part C - Medicare Advantage Plans
(Medicare Advantage)

This Medicare coverage option is run by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. These plans include all benefits under Part A and Part B, with minor exceptions, and usually include additional benefits, such as dental, vision, and drug coverage. Learn more

Medicare Part D - Prescription Drug Coverage
(Drug Coverage)

Part D is standalone prescription drug coverage that helps cover the cost of prescription drugs and may even help protect against higher costs in the future. It is run by private insurance companies approved by and contracted with Medicare. Learn more
